Message from Sandy Sansavere, I Love Ferguson Chairwoman

We are a volunteer group of residents from Ferguson Missouri who have joined together in support of this wonderful community of choice for all people. We love Ferguson and it’s surrounding diverse communities and are committed to help support all residents, businesses, schools, churches and community events. We believe that  with God’s help, the people in any community can become the driving force for positive change. This change creates a stronger and more unified city. All things are possible if we all work together. We sell I heart Ferguson and Ferguson memorabilia. Also painting for Peace books and more, and now have merchandise in 58 countries and every state in the USA. Since 2014, the I Love Ferguson organization has donated over $143,000.00 to help rebuild businesses and support many local charities and community organizations. Thanks to all our volunteers and all the people from around the world who support us. Donations are always welcome. Peace and love to all. Like us on Facebook. Sandy Sansevere, ...

“Pumpkin Walk” keeps Halloween safe for Ferguson kids

“Pumpkin Walk” keeps Halloween safe for Ferguson kids

The “I Love Ferguson Committee” is hosting the second annual “Pumpkin Walk” for Ferguson children to celebrate Halloween. The event was created to offer a safe daytime trick-or-treat activity The  “Pumpkin Walk,’ set for October 25 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. through the Old East Ferguson area.  Several local churches will be asked to help again this year and we are asking for volunteers to escort children and hand out candy. Homeowners in the Old Ferguson East neighborhood will once again be asked to place “Open for Halloween” signs on their lawns to welcome the children. The signs were generously donated by Scott Newger, president of Ferguson-based Newger Materials.  Homeowners will be given candy if needed to distribute.  Candy and signs will be available for pick up at the I love Ferguson Store at 299 South Florissant  Rd. starting October 19th.  To volunteer call the store at 314-254-7400.  Volunteers are also needed to put in the signs. Children must be accompanied by an adult. WOW $35,000 raised in one week

Update: Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014 WOW $35,000 raised in one week! You probably have noticed that I have gone silent since last Monday night. Quite frankly, I have been so busy, I could not respond. We have all been devastated by what we saw and heard that evening. I have spoken to any media that would let me speak. I defended our city with every fiber of my being. I could not believe this was really happening to our beloved community. Epic failure, except for our local government. Our community was promised that we would be protected by the National Guard and State Highway Patrol. We were instead ignored for hours. I don’t care what excuse Governor Nixon eventually comes up with. He failed as a leader in a time of crisis, plain and simple. I believe a person’s true character rises or sinks during extreme pressure. Mr. Nixon is finished as an elected official as far as I am concerned. NOW the great news. The people have responded and are responding. We have raised over $35,000 since last Monday night. The destruction and looting was so massive it will take millions upon millions of Dollars to rebuild. Rebuild we will. I guarantee it. We have the spirit and character to survive and grow even stronger. We will rebuild West Florissant. We will insist on aid from the State and Federal Government. I believe in this community. No more time for tears; we must get to work. God bless Ferguson and North County and give us strength! I want to introduce Ms. Danni Eickenhorst. She has agreed to help market...
Hope & Healing: Images from Ferguson

Hope & Healing: Images from Ferguson

This weekend, local graphic designer and photographer, Michael Kilfoy of Studio X, volunteered his time and talent to memorialize the hope and healing seen in downtown Ferguson. Volunteers from the Paint for Peace project turned boarded up businesses into works of art and clearly spread the message that love will win. Below are a few of the images he was able to capture.
