Update: Sunday, December 21, 2014
I LOVE FERGUSON will present a $50,000 check to ReInvest North County this coming Tuesday, December 23rd, at 11:00am at 299 South Florissant Rd. A press release will go out Monday morning. I ask you to please join us for this special presentation.
Incredibly since last month when I Love Ferguson donated its third $5,000 check, more tragedy struck. Due to additional unrest after the grand jury’s decision many more businesses had their windows broken, were looted or totally destroyed by fires. The destruction was unbelievable.
However, since then there is great news. Private citizens and small companies have responded. The I Love Ferguson Store has seen growth beyond belief. Outright donations and sales of I Love Ferguson items has surged these last several weeks. Requests for items have come from all over, including foreign countries. People from all walks of life showed up to clean and board up the windows. Boarded windows now display some of the most incredible artwork from talented volunteers. A Children’s Book, 2015 Calendars and post cards are being assembled and produced showcasing the artwork to raise additional funds for those affected.
We are pleased to announce that with this additional $50,000 check, this will bring our total donated so far to $65,000. Many more mom and pop / independent businesses will receive some much needed relief during this holiday season.
We will continue our 501(c)3 fund raising efforts as long as there is a need and we have the volunteers needed to run the I Love Ferguson Store. Look for more auctions of local celebrities and other new products after Christmas. Check out our items at the I Love Ferguson Store at 299 S. Florissant Rd., Ferguson, Mo. 63135, M-F 10am-5pm and Sat. 9am-2pm.
Lastly, as the last few days of 2014 remain, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Safe and Glorious New Year. With that in mind, I will take down my “I (heart) Ferguson” yard sign on January 1st, 2014. Please join me in doing the same. God Bless you all for your tremendous support through these rough days.
In Peace and Unity I am,
Brian P. Fletcher, Chairman
