Update: Sunday, November 16th, 2014

Hello everyone; it’s been a hectic week and looks like no signs of stopping. The I Love Ferguson store at 299 S. Florissant is busy, busy, busy. We want once again to thank our patrons and supporters. I cannot say thank you enough to our fantastic volunteers who staff the store 6 days a week. We have a regular volunteer list and are always looking for more. Please contact myself or the store to offer your time. The telephone numbers are listed below at the bottom of this post.

The auction of of a lunch with Martin Kilcoyne and crew raised $601. That brings to $5601 raised thus far for the 501(c)3 charitable I Love Ferguson fund.

Two more auctions are in the planning. Mark Reardon, from KMOX will auction off a seat on the air for some lucky person to be a guest host on his radio show. Award winning Ferguson Author and UMSL professor, Mary Troy, will auction her services to read part of your unpublished manuscript and provide vital feedback. Look for these auctions soon.

We have now donated a total of $15,000 dollars to Re-Invest North County which helps the Mom and Pop businesses recover through cash grants. We will continue our efforts as long we continue to receive support from the public and there is still a need.

Very shortly, we will have a collectible limited edition Christmas ornament, coffee/cocoa mug, and a surprise sweat shirt. We will take prepaid orders on the Christmas ornaments due to its expected demand. The ornament will come in a gift box suitable for wrapping. It will make a great gift idea and stocking stuffer. The ornament will be dated Christmas 2014. Don’t wait; we don’t you to be disappointed.

Thursday we kicked off a new clothing drive for low income children for Christmas. Our drive will stop Monday, December 8th. We are looking for items such as socks, mittens/gloves, stocking hats, scarfs, coats, jackets, under clothes, pj’s, pants, shirts, dresses, sweaters, sweatshirts etc. You can drop then off at our store at 299 S. Florissant Rd. or The Corner Coffee House at 100 N. Florissant Rd. We will announce other collection locations later.

Several local notables weighed in Thursday afternoon to help start this new fundraiser. Please join us by participating yourself (it’s not too late to join) as a weight loss candidate who seeks sponsors for every pound you loss by March 20, 2015. If not, then please sponsor someone who is participating. I personally need several more sponsors, so please call me. Your donation to I Love Ferguson is completely tax deductible. You can choose either the $ amount per pound lost or a set amount predetermined by you.
